Mentorship Program
Join Our Mentorship Program
Most of us have had a teacher, supervisor, or coach who has been a mentor to us and made a positive difference in our lives. Those people played many roles, acting as role models, cheerleaders, policy enforcers, advocates, and friends.
Become a Mentor
Mentors assume these different roles during the course of a relationship, and share some basic qualities:
A sincere desire to be involved with a young person
Respect for young people
Active listening skills
Empathy
Flexibility
Ability to see solutions
All of our Mentors MUST live in Georgia, pass a background check and attend Training before mentoring can begin
Find a Mentor
Are you a teacher, guardian, or caring adult to a young person who you feel could benefit from a mentor? Or are you a young person who wants to connect with a mentor? Mentors are supportive individuals who build relationships with young people by offering them guidance, support, and encouragement to help encourage positive and healthy development. Mentors are not meant to replace parents, guardians, or teachers, or to play the role of disciplinarians or decision makers. Rather, they become part of a team of caring adults to that young person. Mentors can help foster positive choices, promote high self-esteem, support academic achievement and cultivate new ideas.
